COTA will be holding auditions on April 21st from 9am to 4pm at All Saint’s Church in Carmel, CA.  Those who wish to audition will need to call Colleagues of the Arts at (831) 620-1200 and give their name, phone number and their artform (musician, dancer, vocalist, actor).  When the audition slots are filled, the phone line will notify callers of that fact.

As part of the open audition, please bring a photo and be prepared to complete an audition application form at the door.  You will be given a performance number upon arrival.    There will be space for 30 individuals in the 9-12 A.M. period and 30 additional in the 1-4 P.M. period.   All auditions are limited to 2 minutes in length.  Instrumental artists will be screened in the morning while dance, actors and vocalists will  audition  in the afternoon.  If there are more applicants than can be seen in this time period, a second audition day may be scheduled.  Also, students under 18 year of age must be accompanied by a parent and sign a waiver for any liability with the church which has been kind enough to donate this space.

We hope to identify COTA Student Award candidates at the April 21st audition. Several of those auditioning will be invited by May 1st to complete the full application for a financial award and participate in a presentation of talent in June, 2012.

Those who audition will receive a Certificate of Audition to confirm their participation.   The opportunity to prepare and present at  audition is an important skill for any individual who is interested in a major and/or career in the arts.  Colleagues of the Arts is pleased to provide this opportunity to the youth of Monterey County.
