Youth Orchestra Salinas
Youth Orchestra Salinas (YOSAL) is an El Sistema-inspired music program. Conceptualized more than 35 years ago by Dr. José Antonio Abreu, his efforts ignited a revolution in the world of classical music as thousands of students from the most under served communities of Venezuela began studying music each day after school.
In July 2010, Salinas began its own chapter in El Sistema history, offering music instruction in recorder, strings, and choral methods to students from the Salinas Elementary and Alisal school districts. Serves children in K-7th grades.
